Katherine Heigl shares the ways that growing up as a child living in a white bubble affected the way she raised her multiracial family. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" actress, along with "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her. But after having a conversation with her adoptive sister in South Korea about how society had treated them, she was aware of the stark differences their lives were. When I asked Meg about how she was treated when in public, with or without our parents, it was different. She said: 'Oh yes, I've seen it all!' Heigl admitted to her parents that she realized how naive she had been. According to the actor she was angered. But, she was determined to channel her anger into helping the girls she adopted. Heigl, who has been engaged to Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
